Volunteer Information

Volunteering for a youth track club can be a great way to give back to the community and help young athletes achieve their goals. There are a number of volunteer opportunities available for individuals interested in supporting a youth track club, ranging from coaching and mentoring to organizing events and fundraisers. RC Track Club does have a 10 hour volunteer requirement from each family. Ways that you can serve are:

  1. Coaching: One of the most impactful ways to volunteer for a youth track club is to become a coach. This involves working with young athletes to help them develop their skills, build their confidence, and reach their goals. Coaches can specialize in a specific event, such as the sprints, jumps, or throws, or they can take on a more general role.
  2. Snack bar: The life blood of running our events. The snack bar helps to make sure that we can continue to host our events and run a season. We require volunteers to help work the registers, serve food, cook, and clean up at the end of the event.
  3. Event organization: Youth track clubs often host a number of events throughout the year, such as meets, clinics, and fundraisers. Volunteers can help with event organization, from setting up and breaking down equipment to managing registration and timing.
  4. Fundraising: Many youth track clubs rely on fundraising to support their programs and initiatives. Volunteers can help with fundraising efforts, such as organizing and participating in events, soliciting donations, and spreading the word about the club.
  5. Marketing and communications: In order to reach a wider audience and build support for the club, youth track clubs need effective marketing and communication strategies. Volunteers can help with this effort by creating and distributing materials, managing social media accounts, and spreading the word about the club and its events.
  6. Equipment management: Youth track clubs rely on a variety of equipment, from hurdles and starting blocks to javelins and shot puts. Volunteers can help with equipment management, from setting up and breaking down equipment to maintaining and repairing it as needed.
  7. Ticketing: Our front gate needs staff to take tickets and make sure guests are properly admitted to our events. Ticketing is critical to the successful operation of our events.

Volunteering for a youth track club can be a rewarding experience, both for the volunteers themselves and for the young athletes they support. Whether you're interested in coaching, mentoring, or any other aspect of youth track, there's likely a volunteer opportunity that's a good fit for you.
